Report of the Charitable Foundation “The Island of Hope” – September 2025

Dear friends and partners of “Island of Hope” Foundation,
We are glad to share our September 2025 report highlighting our work and achievements. Our mission has evolved into a comprehensive set of activities focused on supporting vulnerable populations. We are doing everything possible to provide them with the necessary assistance and ease their hardships.
Our aid encompasses the following areas:
• Families in difficult life circumstances – especially those affected by war.
• Large families – offering support and attention to children.
• Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) – helping them adapt to new realities.
• Children and youth with behavioral issues – offering psychological and social support.
• Children with autism – supporting their development and integration.
Your contribution is crucial during these trying times. We sincerely thank you for your support. With God’s help, your contributions, and our team’s efforts, much good was accomplished this September.
With deep gratitude,
Chairman of the Board – Stepan Koisa

1. “The Island of Hope” - After-School Care Center
Our center provides essential social services to children and families facing challenging life circumstances and vulnerabilities. We work with a mission to ensure a happy childhood in loving families.
As part of our work at the Day Center, we conduct various events and activities, including:
Daily Bible reading for Christian education. Motor skills development through creative crafts.
Teaching a responsible attitude towards nature and natural resources, including waste sorting.
Educational games and exercises.
Working on tablets with programs for developing various skills. Help with homework. Group and individual classes.
Inclusion of children with autism provides them with a supportive environment for development.
During September, our Day Center was open 25 out of 30 days, and we had 1,654 visits.
The maximum number of children who visited the center this month was 58.
We are committed to our mission and continue to work to ensure a happy and healthy childhood for all children. Thank you for your support, which allows us to continue this important work.
Working on tablets and interactive floors
Your support and assistance enable us to provide children with high-quality educational opportunities for their development.
In May, our pupils continued to actively use tablets with the help of the “Rozumnytsky” program. This program helps them consolidate and deepen the knowledge they have gained at school and develop their skills in Ukrainian, mathematics, and other subjects.
In addition, we use an interactive floor for classes. This is an innovative method that makes learning fun and exciting. On this floor, children can perform various tasks and exercises that contribute to their physical and cognitive development.
We are grateful for your support, which helps us provide children with the opportunity to learn and develop at our center.
Since April 2024, in addition to the “Rozumnytsky” educational project, our center has begun
implementing remedial programs for children who are falling behind in their studies.
Programs include:
- Individual lessons with qualified teachers: Our teachers assess each child's knowledge and needs in order to develop a personalized learning plan.
- Small group lessons allow children to receive additional support and interact with peers who have similar difficulties.
- Lessons using innovative teaching methods: We use a variety of teaching methods to make the learning process interesting and exciting for children.
- Cooperation with parents: We work closely with parents to ensure consistency in learning and support at home.
Thanks to these programs, we are already seeing significant improvements in children's learning. Many children who were previously falling behind are now catching up with their peers. We are proud to help children overcome learning difficulties and achieve success.
In addition to remedial programs, our center also offers:
- Early learning and development: We offer programs for preschoolers that help them develop the skills they need to succeed in school.
- Extracurricular activities: We offer a wide range of extracurricular activities, such as sports, art, and music.
- Summer camps: We offer summer camps that allow children to have fun and learn new things.
- Our center strives to provide all children with access to quality education and help them reach their full potential.
Robotics
Robotics for children: the future is in their hands!
Today's children have the opportunity to build real robots with educational construction sets like DECO. It's not just a game — it's a real immersion into the world of science, technology, and engineering!
By assembling robots from construction sets, children learn to:
• Design various mechanisms.
• Program and configure their robots to perform tasks.
• Work in a team, developing communication and collaboration skills.
Each project is a new challenge and an opportunity to discover your engineering talents! Robotics develops logical thinking, creativity, and the ability to solve complex problems. And all this in a playful way!
3D Days (Days of Good Deeds)
Inspired by the Global Day of Good Deeds, our team decided that one day a year is not enough. Regular visits are made to elderly people, those with disabilities, and the lonely. Small gifts and kindness bring them joy.
In September, we visited seven individuals. We teach children compassion and active kindness.
Individual work
Our individual sessions with children, based on the principles of trauma pedagogy, are deeply important and respond to the challenges of the modern world. The systemic crisis that has engulfed many countries and the global community has led to increased social alienation among young people and the spread of self-destructive behavior in children. These negative trends can lead to serious problems, including crime, prostitution, drug addiction, alcoholism, and other negative phenomena.
Our team is doing vital work to mitigate these effects and help children overcome challenges and negative factors in their lives. Volunteers who mentor children and conduct individual sessions play an important role in this process. They provide children not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical skills that will help them in their future lives.
The therapeutic and preventive work carried out by the director of the DC is also important. These meetings are therapeutic in nature and can help children understand and overcome their traumatic experiences.
Our initiative aims to protect and help children in conditions of systemic crisis and the destruction of the family institution. We do everything we can to help children find a path to a better future and overcome the challenges they face.
This work is carried out according to methodological guidelines and using a manual developed by our specialists.
Distribution of sweets, food, etc. to children and adults...
This month, our little wards received numerous surprises and gifts from you.
These gifts are of great importance to our children, especially in the context of the military conflict, which creates great stress and trauma. They help us to provide children with unforgettable moments of happiness and joy, finding a little light in this difficult situation.
The sweets and toys you have given us make our children's lives brighter and more comfortable. They help them to endure the stresses associated with constant anxiety and other stressful situations that children face every day.
We sincerely thank you for your support and generosity. Your help makes the world a better place for our little ones. We continue to do our best to ensure their safety, comfort, and happy childhood.
Thank you for making a difference together.
First psychological aid
Our center regularly conducts individual and group sessions on the first psychological aid for children who have experienced stressful events. The sessions help children calm down, express their emotions, and feel supported and safe. We use conversations, art therapy, play techniques, and exercises for emotional stabilization.
Prayer
The island team continues to pray together on Viber every three hours. This practice began in the early days of the war. Now, despite the unstable power supply, our team continues to pray:
for the team is always grateful that, despite the martial law, the Island's ministry not only continues but is gaining momentum and expanding.
for peace in Ukraine.
for protection from enemy attacks on Ukraine and the region.
for personal needs.
Since the beginning of the war, we have been holding regular prayers via Viber every three hours. This practice began in the early days of the conflict and continues despite an unstable power supply and military action.
Our team turns to God daily with the following intentions:
We are always grateful that, despite the martial law, the ministry of the Island of Hope not only continues but also expands and develops.
We pray for peace in Ukraine, for an end to military action, and for the restoration of stability in the country.
We pray for the protection of Ukraine from enemy attacks, for wisdom and strength for our defenders and civilians in the region.
We also bring before God the personal needs and requests of all who come to us with prayer requests.
We believe in the power of corporate prayer and thank you for your support in this spirit

The Island of Hope also offers the following:
Classes with children with autism
Autism is a serious psychological disorder that includes impairments in social development, speech development, and communication skills, as well as restricted behavior. Parents often hide this problem, and children with autism may feel isolated.
We believe in the importance of working with such children, and we have trained volunteers who now teach these children. Our goal is to develop this ministry by involving even more volunteers. We also understand the importance of working with the children's parents, and such work is already being planned.
Currently, our classes are conducted individually with each child, lasting 1 hour and taking place on average 3 times a week. In September, we managed to conduct 24 courses with seven children, including two children from IDP families.
“Health Day – Pearls”
Every Wednesday is a holiday for us! Our “Pearls” eagerly await Health Day. Volleyball, active games, and lots of positivity are what make their hearts happy!
Games with parents
Every Sunday from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., we, the volunteers of the DC, get together with the parents of our pupils and play board games. Usually, up to 20 parents come, some of whom are volunteers. These events have become a wonderful tradition and a time when we can relax, have fun, and play games together.
This initiative has several goals:
• Strengthening the bond between parents and children.
• Promoting positive interaction between parents and volunteers.
• Providing recreation and entertainment for parents, especially IDP parents.
We believe that these events help improve relationships in our community and strengthen support among parents. We thank everyone who has joined these events and makes our life together more fulfilling and joyful.
We are glad that more and more parents are joining these events.
Providing transportation to beneficiaries
We are always ready to help those who come to us with transportation requests, as we understand how important it is to have access to transportation.
Our organization provides assistance to parents and others in need, who often turn to us for transportation or to resolve other transportation issues. We do our best to ensure convenient transportation access for those who need it.
Thanks to your support and our team's joint efforts, we have been able to provide assistance in many situations. This assistance includes transportation to hospitals, pharmacies, educational institutions, and other needs of our beneficiaries.
We are always grateful for your support and the opportunity to help those in need.
Spiritual and Daily Bread in Every Home
This initiative is extremely important for a comprehensive approach to supporting those in need. Our team is doing a tremendous job providing food and spiritual nourishment through Bibles to those who need it.
The collaboration with the Eastern European Humanitarian Mission seems to be very effective, as it provides an opportunity to distribute Bibles and New Testaments free of charge. This allows us to help not only with people's physical needs, but also with their spiritual needs. The path to God and spiritual enrichment through His Word is very important, and this initiative helps open it for many.
In September, we distributed food packages containing daily and spiritual bread and delivered 9 to homes. This shows the great need for this work.
Spiritual literature: Bibles, Noah's Ark, etc.
Your support not only enables us to receive but also to distribute valuable publications to our wards and citizens.
We constantly receive and distribute a lot of spiritual literature, in particular:
Bibles: The Holy Scriptures are the foundation of our faith and a source of hope and spiritual knowledge for our beneficiaries.
Noah's Ark magazines: This educational and spiritual magazine is aimed at children and helps them understand key aspects of faith and spirituality in an exciting, accessible way.
Other evangelical literature: We distribute materials that help our beneficiaries understand faith and spiritual values and find their spiritual path.
Your support helps us provide access to these valuable resources and contributes to the spiritual growth and development of our beneficiaries.
New Mail
Logistical support from New Mail
For a long time, New Mail has been providing prompt delivery of materials to our beneficiaries. Part of the delivery cost was covered by the company's points, which helped reduce expenses and use resources more efficiently.
We would like to express our gratitude to Humanitarian Nova Poshta for its reliability and partnership support.
All this work was made possible by God's help and:
Nourished Hearts and many more caring organizations and Christian individuals.
